Havarti Mac and Cheese Bites



  • Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour until smooth and combined. Cook flour while whisking for 2-3 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth and combined, bring to a simmer.
  • Slowly stir in the cheeses a little at a time, waiting until the cheese fully melts before adding more.
  • Remove from heat and fold the pasta into the cheese sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spray an 8” square pan with nonstick spray. Spread the mac and cheese into an even layer and chill for 1 hour.
  • Preheat air fryer to 425.
  • Set up a dredging station with flour in one bowl, eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third. Season all bowls with salt and pepper.
  • Once mac and cheese is cool, cut into 16 equal portions and smush each piece into a ball in your hands.
  • Dip first into the flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  • Spray air fryer basket, spread mac and cheese bites evenly, and spray again with nonstick spray.
  • Air fry for 12-14 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • While still hot, sprinkle the mac and cheese bites with salt and parmesan. Serve.

Large eggs
Plain breadcrumbs
1 cup
Parmesan cheese for serving
