Preheat the oven to 375° F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Use a serrated knife to cut the bread into a 1” grid pattern, without slicing all the way through. Place on the baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, garlic powder, salt, cumin, chili powder, and diced green chilis.
Use a spoon to drizzle the butter into all of the cracks of the bread. Sprinkle the diced cheese into the cracks until the loaf is filled.
Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Carefully uncover and return to the oven, baking for another 7-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve warm.
