Try something new on your burgers! This cheesy topping adds a warm layer of herb-spiked creaminess that melts and coats the top of burgers. Great on steaks and chicken too!

  • 4 ounces shredded Arla® Dofino® Creamy Havarti Chunk
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/8 cup thinly sliced scallions
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemons zest
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 roasted pepper cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove slivered garlic
  • 6 6-ounce burgers
  • 6 hamburger buns

Instructions

Prepare the toppings: Combine the Arla® Dofino® Havarti, cream cheese, scallions, basil and lemon in a bowl. Season mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside. Season the roasted pepper with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic, set aside. Grilling peppers: Place the peppers on the grill or under a broiler until the skin blisters and blackens, about 15 minutes. Cook peppers on all sides. Remove from heat and place in a bowl, cover. Let sit for 10 minutes. Peel skin off peppers, cut in half and remove seeds and ribs. Combine the peppers with olive oil, vinegar and garlic. Refrigerate until ready to use. Burger: Grill the burgers almost until desired doneness. Top with a heaping spoonful of the cheese mixture, close the grill top and let the cheese mixture melt, about 1 minute. Remove, set in a bun and top with marinated pepper strips.
