Grilled Arla® Dofino® Creamy Havarti & Tomato Sandwiches on Cranberry Bread

This dressed-up grilled cheese is a perfect early fall meal! Tart and sweet cranberries complement savory Arla® Dofino® Havarti in this re-imagining of a lunchtime classic.

  • 1/8 cup olive oil
  • 8 slices whole grain cranberry bread
  • 8 Arla® Dofino® Creamy Havarti Slices
  • 2 thinly sliced ripe tomatoes
  • 12 fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Set skillet to medium heat. Brush each slice of bread with olive oil and place four slices, oil side down, on the skillet. Top bread slice with a slice of cheese, tomato, three basil leaves and a second slice of cheese. Place another piece of bread on top, oil side up. Cook sandwiches slowly until the bread browns and cheese begins to melt, about 3 minutes. Turn sandwiches over and cook until the bread browns, about 2 minutes. Remove from the skillet, cut sandwiches in half, and enjoy!
